10 YEARS OF ONE DIRECTION -- How crazy is that? I can't imagine that it has been over a decade since the boys were formed as a band in the X-Factor. Time does fly so fast. My earliest memory of One Direction is seeing them on Myx with their first-ever single What Makes You Beautiful. I never thought that I would become so obsessed over a boyband. I know "obsessed" sounds crazy, but truth is, I was. The good thing though is that I was not the only one feeling that way. I literally would fangirl over them through day and night. I'd save thousands of pictures, rewatch every video of them, tweet in my 1D fan account and talk about them non-stop. Being a One Direction fangirl wasn't just a hobby, it was a lifestyle. One Direction's hiatus was every fangirl's nightmare. However, seeing them grow individually was worth it. They had their sense of style and genre and it was gratifying. As I got older, I realized that they needed that break from the boyband life. They had to step out and venture new directions whether it is to pursue acting or produce their own music. A fangirl would support their stans every step of the way. As One Direction celebrated its 10th year last July 23, it was such a nostalgic feeling. Stan accounts were back up again, Directioners who were much older now were fangirling again, it was a bliss to see on Twitter. I am thankful for the boys because they made every teenage girl who supported them the happiest. Not once have I regretted stanning over One Direction because they made my teenage life memorable. I cannot wait to tell my kids one day that I was obsessed over a band; it's a story worth telling.
