Procrastination and Time Management is a common problem for students, employees, businessmen, and those that have a ton of activities to do on a daily basis. We may have heard of various solutions for these problems such as listing the things we need to do or writing out the tasks alongside hours-long tasks on your list for the day, there is a more realistic and effective approach to set your schedule with one task at a time. The Time-Blocking. Time-blocking consists of assigning individual tasks to manageable time slots. It adds structure to your work routine and get more done during the day. Because, you would be knowing that another task is time-blocked, and the current tasks need to be done in the stipulated time. How to do it? 1. Block your time for specific types of work, not individual tasks. 2. Use recurring blocks for recurring tasks. 3. Don't over-schedule. Truthfully, we can't be productive for 6,7, or 8 hours straight. Give yourself some time to replenish between tasks. 4. Always put allowance on every task. Add more time than you think you need. 5. Take 10-15 minutes before you sleep and plan your next day. You should rearrange blocks if you must create time for other important things. In conclusion, with all that stated, time-blocking is a simple productivity exercise and means using your calendar to block time for your most important priorities. With this, you only work on that one thing most important and you don't have to think, "What should I do next?" (see attached photo for an example of time-blocking)
