I am Confident

Stay positive Don’t let life get you down. Stay joyful. Stay hopeful. Week 6: I’m confident!
This is the last topic on our “Stay Positive” series and we are hoping that you are now more positive than ever. Question: Are you the type of person who does not have confidence. Well, I am. If you’re like me, read on… There are 3 kinds of insecurities. 1. People pleaser. – this is a person who has an emotional need to please others often at the expense of his or her own needs. Sounds familiar? 😊 2. Compliment fisher - When someone essentially insults themselves in order to get sympathy from other people. 3. One uper – Now this is bad. If you are this kind of person, you will always have a better story than others. You will lie about almost every detail of your story just to be a little bit better than others. This one is so difficult to admit. In this week, we will learn that we actually do not need self-confidence. What we should do is cultivate God confidence. Read on. Self-confidence comes with the definition of being self-assured in our own personal judgment, ability, power and qualities. Sure, self-confidence is something that every individual need and it allows us to interact within communities. “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.” - 1 Corinthians 10:12 As a Christian dedicated to Jesus, self-confidence sounds a lot like being independent on self instead of aiming our eyes towards Jesus. Each individual who looks in the mirror when waking up and before going to sleep will see that they are more than enough when they understand that their confidence came from God and not on themselves. Always enough. “My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!” – Psalm 57:7 Three truths to help you cultivate God confidence. 1. My God is always for me. "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" - Romans 8:31. So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! - Hebrews 10:35 2. My God always helps me. “...I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. - Hebrews 13:5-6 "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble." - Psalm 46:1 3. My God is still working in me. “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” - Philippians 1:6 “For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.” - Colossians 1:4-5 If you are not confident, you are facing trials, you are constantly telling yourself na “hindi mo kaya”, always remember this verse:

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:13

God did not call those who are qualified, He qualifies those He called. You are a work in progress. You are enough.
