First of all, this article is more about being an introvert. It's up to you if you'll read this or not becuase we are really kind of weird creatures so we can understand that. Now, as a social and thinking type of introvert, we prefer solitude (most of the time) or be with close friends rather than within large gatherings. And it doesn't mean we're shy. There's a lot of reason why we might seem disinterested with other people. One of it is we hate small talk. We prefer meaningful conversation. Now, unlike extroverts, we are not prone to instant gratification. All we gotta do is spend a lone time. That's how most of us repsond to rewards. We humans have the same amount of the neurotransmitter called dopamine in our body but for us introverts, our brain is less active on the region that generates it. So instead we rely on another neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This stuff is also linked to pleasure but unlike dopamine, the pleasure is produced by turning inward. This makes us deep thinkers and prefer quiet and peaceful places rather than in a crowd places. And we like the sound of the rain because it signals the opportunity for solitude. Yes, we are different. We are are not common. We may prefer to be alone but we are not lonely. We are not just the type that keep minding other's business. Our mind is our comfort zone. Deal with it!
