Jack Ma: You don't have to be smart to be successful

Jack Ma, founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba, shared a few tips at the 2018 World Economic Forum.

" I always tried to find people smarter than I am."

At first he knew nothing about technology, knew nothing about management. But the thing is, you don't have to know a lot of things.
He said, you don't have to know a lot of things but you can find people who are smarter than you. So once you find a lot of smart people, your job is to make them work together. Your goals and visions will be easier to achieve.

His advice to younger generations..

20-30 years old, you should FOLLOW A GOOD BOSS. Join a company to learn how to do things properly.

When you're 30-40 years old, if you want to do something new yourself, JUST DO IT, You can still afford to lose, or to fail.

But when you're 40-50 years old, his suggestion is that you should DO THINGS THAT YOU ARE GOOD AT. Not do something new or that just interest you.

When you're 50-60 years old, SPEND TIME TRAINING AND DEVELOPING YOUNG PEOPLE, the next generation. Invest on time and make sure they are good. Because by that time, they can do better than you.

When you are over 60 years old, you better stay with your grandchildren and enjoy life!
