I've known a lot of people who are now on the process of chasing their dreams. Some of them are mostly my friends, classmates and church-mates. I, too, have a dream of my own---to be a professional voice talent. But before I realized that being a voice over artist is my passion, I dreamed of other professions first. How did I knew that my real passion is voice acting? Here are some points that helped me find my way to my true passion in life and am sure will help you too: 1. KNOW YOURSELF. You wouldn't know your passion if you don't know things about you. What are your hobbies? Which field are you interested? Do you find yourself watching videos about space and planets? Do you love playing soccer? Note down all the things you like. And think about which of these things is the one you like the most. 2. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. After finding out what you like, there are still people who will question your dream. Do not let other's opinion decide which road you'll take. If you take note of their opinions, you'll start to question yourself too. Am I on the right field? Is this where my interest falls? Just trust in yourself. You know yourself the best. 3. FOCUS ON YOURSELF ALONE. At some point, you may find that your chosen dream are somehow difficult to achieve. But don't lose hope! I've also been in this stage where I feel down because my friends are only a feet away from their dreams. Focus on yourself. Don't mind the others. Remember that life is not a race. 4. CONSIDER THE THING YOU DOESN'T LIKE. If you are still in doubt of your real passion, you might want to consider the dreams or professions you aren't into. I know, this is very contradicting to point number 1. But this is what made me find my real passion. I was a member of our school's Radio Broadcasting team. I wasn't really fond of it but my teachers always told me that I have a nice voice. That's how I practice and developed my voice. And eventually, I found out that I like dubbing and doing voice acting. To end, I want you to be patient. Not all have already found their real passion. Some may find it on their 30s or 40s. You just need to find your interest, believe and focus on yourself, and perhaps consider the things you don't like. I hope this article helped you. See you on my next blog!
