I normally sleep in the afternoon. Around 2pm is the time that i will feel sleepy and eventually fall down to bed and sleep. But I set my alarm at 530PM so that I can still prepare my dinner which I usually have by 630PM, just in time for the primetime news. It's my daily habit to watch the news while eating. But I woke up late yesterday, by around 545PM. So I hurriedly fixed myself to go outside and buy some stuff for dinner. And what could be more faster to cook than a canned good. It's actually been a long time since I've cooked meatloaf. So I purchased one and went back home to cook it. I don't cook rice at night. I do it during lunchtime and the leftover rice will be consumed at dinner. I live alone, no one else to eat it. And it's more economical if you cook rice just once a day, especially when you're using a rice cooker and want to save on electric bills. Upon opening the can of meatloaf, I noticed that the quality already has deteriorated from the first time it was served to me by my Mom during the 80's. Back then, you can actually distinguish the taste of meat from the extender. But today, meatloaves are already full of extenders. Not sure what they use as extenders, but you will get the feeling that what you are eating would be composed of flour, starch or anything powdery blended with an additive that mimics the flavor of meat. And basing on the price of each can, you'll certainly agree that somehow, they are low quality products. I miss going to supermarkets, buying the real meatloaf in the wet section. The one where you can see real meat if you slice it. You can also purchase a baked meatloaf, though a little pricey. But for you to get the authentic or real experience of eating meatloaf, you really have to cough up some bucks. It's worth the amount though.
