Every person is entitled to a quality education; it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future. Teaching young minds is a task that can be both satisfying and challenging. As a teacher we have the incredible opportunity and power to make a difference in the lives of our students. I want to teach my students not only academic skills, but also how to behave appropriately, how to socialize with others, and how to work hard to achieve goals. I will also demonstrate how to be compassionate and empathetic member of society in our daily interactions.

My goal is to educate them in a way that has some straightforward instruction but that also gives them room to grow and think on their own. It is comprehensible for me to lead class discussions in the beginning of the year, but towards the end of the year, I want them to participate during class discussions, try to answer their question independently and to conduct various study of the topic. I think it is advantageous to the student to research for an answer rather than being told because it stretches their knowledge and teaches them how to find information in variety of ways. I will require group work to see them develop together for the betterment of each individual. This will encourage students to help fellow students, changes each person, and transforms the atmosphere of the classroom as a whole.

As a future educator, it is my responsibility to find ways to get my students excited about learning. I know how valuable teacher’s approval, and positive reinforcement, and are more likely to be enthusiastic about learning if they feel their work is recognized and valued. I intent to encourage open communication and free thinking to make them feel important. I expect my students to remember the skills and knowledge I taught through adulthood, so that I can start by being a type of teacher the students will remember.
