NEVER OFFER YOUR SERVICE FOR FREE

You know why free taste cookies are as amazing as free wifi? Because they can be easily taken advantage of.

Do people have these things for free without paying anything in return? The answer is...

Ofcourse! That's why it's called free.

Come to think of it, when people use free WiFi they know that it's gonna be free forever until it becomes restricted.

When people is offered a free taste cookie, they know that after a bite they're already paying for another bite, on the other hand when these people are satisfied with its taste they'll pay for another one and yes it sounds good, but remember that what they're paying for is not the service of the ones who made it but it's TASTE. People already saw the product first, before being grabbed as FREE.

You should be getting the logic now.

There are only two sides here, either people will think your service is cheap and it's gonna be forever free (because it seems like you're the one buying their service for a simple "he's good" recommendation), or people will only bite your offer now because it's free and once its price takes place they would rather choose another credible person than a beginner simply because he's experienced and trusted by many.

Same case as the latter example-

Instead of offering your service for free where you're only after one's recommendation/review, I suggest you offer your free service for yourself.
TIP #1: CREATE YOUR OWN PORTFOLIO

a) Research ability is one necessity in freelancing. Search for samples which you think are on standard level, try to trace it as your inspiration or model.

b) Apply what you learned to yourself (e.g) if you're a web developer, build your own website and make it your sample when potential clients are looking for it. if you're a SMM build your own page (like what I'm doing) and showcase it, study it, until you find potential clients whom you can show this a portfolio of yours.

c) Ask for feedback (better if from people you don't know, so you won't be judged at the same time will give you a transparent one)

d) Tweak your strategy if it doesn't work. REVISE. REUSE. RECYCLE. 🤘

TIP #2: SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE IS DIFFERENT FROM OFFERING A FREE SERVICE (That's the difference between a free course and a free sweat 💦)

Instead of offering your service for free, offer it for a low cost (only for a beginning project, same as my #4 tip here https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=112258013835992&id=105975644464229)

TIP #3: DON'T HUSTLE. BE PATIENT. BE RESOURCEFUL.

Wait for the right time with the right person (Kaya tayo nasasaktan eh, masyado tayo nagmamabilis) LOL
While waiting, spend your time studying and upskilling.

OR...

TIP #4: (Shout out to those who gave me this idea) OFFER YOUR FREE SERVICE TO PERSONS WHO ARE CREDIBLE ENOUGH TO COVER UP.

Work for a person who'll certainly recommend you to others. Those with thousands of followers, with bosses or employers, professionals, or anyone else you can think of that has built their own credibility, in that case they can easily build yours too. 😉
They are known for any means, so you can proudly show them off as your clients when a potential client asks for a portfolio. [Great Idea, isn't it?]

TIP #5: Pray
Pray that soon you'll be hired by NOT JUST A Client but your ideal client.

RESPECT YOUR PROFESSION!

Didn't someone tell you that nothing can amount to your hard work? And now you're even offering it for FREE?

Love your profession as you love yourself and vise-versa. 💯

Anyway, Good luck! And I'm praying you'll have your turn soon. I'm here to help. 😊
