You'd literally laugh at the picture but it goes with a lot of stories to tell. First day is the most important day because it leaves a lasting impression. I've already heard stories about students in the "new normal" now on how they conquered their first day on online class: someone fell asleep on an afternoon class, someone not listening on an attendance roll call got scolded, some were blabbing something bad about a professor who they didn't know was listening on the group call, some who used they're friend's picture as memes to confirm attendance, and a lot more to tell. Well, that's their new normal now. But if I could recall, our "normal" was when you were late on class coz you got lost on your way to your assigned classroom, shaking and practicing on your seat how you'd introduce yourself so you stand out or look smart, looking 360 degrees without anyone noticing and checking who's worth admiring (Finding Crush on my first day, yeah!) and finally, walking on my heels the whole day without tripping. It was a lot of fun and embarrassment, much more than they do with the new normal, I think. But it isn't a competition of fun. Due to the pandemic, they have to make the most out of what they can.
