Stress is the “body’s response to a demanding situation.” Our brain causes hormones to respond drastically hereby flooding our body systems. This will result to increasing heart rate, regulate blood pressure, expand or constrict the lung’s capacity and also tense our muscles. 

Stress is natural mechanism of our body. It enables us to deal with the everyday demands or challenges from home, school or at work. Good stress prompts us to act quickly. An adequate amount of stress help us to reach our goals productively and perform daily task effectively. 

However, bad stress often linked to what we commonly known as chronic, extreme or prolonged stress can harm ourselves and suffer physically, emotionally & mentally. Severe stress may able us to cope with substance abuse or other toxic means of dealing with. It may even crossed the line towards depression, burnout, anxiety and thoughts of suicide. It can affect our body from the nervous system, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, gastrointestinal and reproductive system. 

The goal of overcoming stress must put into utmost consideration. But the million dollar question is, “HOW?” Given that the modern world offers the diversity of lifestyle that we sometimes forget it’s already harming our body gradually, effective steps of overcoming stress may seem unreachable. But if we train our habits and pursue a healthy lifestyle, stress can be controlled.
