The first time I have discovered matcha was when I tasted Kitkat’s matcha-flavored chocolate. I was at the pharmacy with my mother, at first, I was hesitant because based on the packaging which was green, most of us equate green to something healthy. I thought, “Green and chocolate? What insane combination is this?” but who doesn’t want to enjoy the pleasure of eating healthy-flavored chocolate, right? So I tried the weird-looking chocolate. I am glad that I tasted the weird-looking chocolate because, at first bite, I was in heaven. A matcha heaven that is full of green. The taste of something bitter yet sweet, it was a pleasant flavor that brings joy to my taste buds. Ever since that day, I have been tasting every matcha flavor food that I found, from milk tea to cake. My go-to flavor of all. Vanilla, I am sorry but I have to say goodbye. Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves. The process of making matcha is by mixing about a teaspoon of matcha powder with a third cup of hot water (heated to less than a boil), which is then whisked with a bamboo brush until it froths. Matcha has several health benefits including: - rich in antioxidant to protect against cancer and heart disease - contains caffeine - boost metabolism and burns calories - detoxifies effectively and naturally - calms the mind and relaxes the body You could totally feel so matcha better if you try it!
