The Earth Stopped, But Good Deeds Won

The Earth has been frozen for the past few months due to the COVID-19, and caused a lot of disturbance in our society.
However as our planet rests from its usual activies, good deeds will not end. Over the past few months, Karl Leonivd Gannaban, an active youth leader proves that good deeds will not end in this trying times.

Project ARAPAAP: Arranged Rearing and Academic Pattern,
Assistance, and Alternatives for the youth under Pandemic is one among the many projects made and initiated by Mr Karl Leonivd Gannaban, which aims to provide continues FREE learning for the children of Amulung, Cagayan.

“What I thought was an impossible activity has turned overwhelming, not only with the influx of grade school children, but with their vigor and interest to learn despite the crisis.” Mr. Gannaban said in one of his posts in social media.

Project ARAPAAP is a nine-day learning activity which was facilitated under the shades of trees, initially available as temporary classrooms for the children. Mr. Gannaban, taught different subjects which include Reading, Writing, Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Sentence Construction, Arts, Basic Mathematics, Hygiene, and Values Formation. He also plans to include other fields of study to equip the children with enough knowledge while their parents, and the Philippine Government struggle to open the classes this August.

Since the said project was implemented in the middle of the pandemic, Mr. Gannaban did not fail to make necessary protection for the children. “I made sure that health protocols such as social distancing (I had to divide perforce the learners into three groups with each group following its own schedule) and wearing of face masks during this pandemic are complied with.” said Mr. Gannaban.

Mr Gannaban left a very influential and positive outlook in his post as he left the readers with a memorable line and I quote:
“I do this, and will continue to do this, with a certainty in mind: Despite the pandemic, our children can still learn. Despite the pandemic, our children can still dream.”
