The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are in oddly similar predicaments in the 2020 offseason, as each team had a disappointing end to 2020. Could these two teams possibly find common ground on a Paul George trade that would send George back to the Eastern Conference? It’s fair to say the Clippers had the highest expectations of any team in the NBA in 2020, thanks for George and Kawhi Leonard. But the Celtics also did not reach their lofty goals, as they now watch the Miami Heat compete in the NBA finals. The Clippers have not committed to trading George as of now, but it may be in their best interest to consider such a move. If Los Angeles is open to the idea, Boston could provide an ideal landing spot for George, as he’d have a chance to go from one contending team to another. Here is a hypothetical trade that would send George to Boston, and give the Clippers the ability to shuffle their roster after players noted chemistry issues at the end of the 2020 season.
