Located in the Southern part of Iloilo, Igbaras offers the amazing outdoor views that everyone will surely enjoy after the month-long quarantine. The extreme serenity of the fields and mountains will melt your heart and leave you speechless. What makes Igbaras more spectacular is the array of food, humble people, and a wide range of activities. As you travel in this town, be prepared to enter the portal of paradise. Thus, here are the four must-visits in Igbaras:

Mount Napulak
Around 1,239 feet above the sea level, the views from Mount Napulak are incredible. Napulak literally means ‘Nipple’ because of the rock that sits the summit. Like heaven, the road to the peak is narrow and bumpy. But, from here you can gleefully experience the maddening beauty of Igbaras.

The peak can be reached after 3 to 5 hours of trekking from Barangay Bagay. Along the way, you can find rafflesia, one of the rarest and largest flowers in the world. Hike together with friends and loved ones and bond with nature now. You can check the Higher Grounds Mountaineers- Iloilo for they host the annual ‘Conquer the Rock’ event for those interested to join the hike at Mount Napulak.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax at Dayhag, Igcabugao. Breakaway from your movie and dinner dates. Find your inner peace in the green fields and blue skies. If stargazing, bonfires, and camping is your thing, then this is the place to go. The place is owned by Mr. Renato Tagacay and you can contact his son Reggie at 09352523933.

To get there, you can either hire a motorcycle from the town up to the campsite or hike from Barangay Passi. Either way, adventure awaits you. Have a nature walk and meet some villagers. As you camp at Dayhag, you can also visit the Igcabugao Cave and try wall climbing too. Take your cliché dates to new heights now!

Guirutsan Falls
Get drawn by the clear and blue water of the Guirutsan Falls at Barangay Igcabugao. This falls is one of the main sources of water of the residents at the lowland and agricultural lands.

Beat the heat of summer and swim at its cool basin. You can trek to the falls for two hours or more. Enjoy a picnic with friends and grab some pictures. For more information, you can contact the Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Igbaras for assistance in visiting the Guirutsan Falls.

Tangyan River
The Tangyan River is the economic heartland of Igbaras. Through the years, it has been the source of living of many Igbarasnons. The river provides a bountiful harvest to almost all barangays, including ‘urang’, ‘iwis’, ‘sili’ ‘lubo-lubo’, ‘kasag’, and others.

To celebrate the role of the river in the lives of every Igbarasnons, Tangyan Festival is being held every 22nd of May. Tourists from different parts of the world flock the town to witness cultural performance with themes of environmental protection, religious beliefs, and folk history. After a long day of trip, it is best to end it by chilling beside Tangyan River while feasting on ‘sinegwelas’, ‘kamunsil,’ and buko juice.
