UPDATE: Free Pasig River Ferry stays open for frontliners in MECQ

The Pasig River Ferry is staying open to service frontliners in Metro Manila now under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

The boat service was reopened to the public on Monday, August 3, 2020, a day before the national government enforced the stricter lockdown measures and the suspension of public transportation in the National Capital Region to reduce the spread of coronavirus disease.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority immediately issued a new advisory announcing that the Pasig River Ferry service will remain operational but only dedicated to transporting frontliner workers in the health, security, and government services.

The free ferry rides are available at the following stations:

Pinagbuhatan
San Joaquin
Guadalupe
Valenzuela
Lawton
Escolta
The ferry boat trip routes are as follows:

Pinagbuhatan to Guadalupe
Guadalupe to Escolta and vice versa
Guadalupe to San Joaquin and vice versa
Frontliners just need to present valid identification cards to avail of the free rides from Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. up to 6 p.m.

The previously announced health safety protocols will be observed to further guide the passengers including the following:

No mask, no entry
Physical distancing shall be observed at all times
Passenger who has colds, cough or body temperature with greater than 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to enter the PRFS premises
Only persons aged 21-59 years old will be allowed to board ferry boats
Upon entering the ferry station, passengers will be required to undergo temperature check
Passengers will be requested to fill-out the manifest form and accomplish the commuter information sheet should contract tracing is deemed necessary
The Pasig River Ferry Service has been serving as an alternative mode of transportation for the residents of Metro Manila since it was relaunched in December 2019.

SEND THANKS in the comments below to the Pasig River Ferry team for providing transportation to Metro Manila frontliners working under the MECQ.
