We always see her selling handmade rags in front of a Mcdo branch in Taguig City. She was always in the same spot, she never left that spot whenever selling rags. She told me that one time, the management of the said fast food warned her that she might be forced to leave the spot but she asked for few more days. Days had passed, the management just let her sell rags there and sometimes the fast food crews give her some food. Me and some senior high school students started a small donation drive for her. We got two separate donations. The first one is for her eye check up. We knew that she have cataracts in both of her eyes. We collected up to P2000+ only with the first donations, just enough for her to have an eye check up and to buy some meds. The second donations is for some groceries. Can you see the red ecobag she is holding in the photo? That's the food we baught for her + the other items we bought in Puregold. We just collected around P500 and just enough for some food. I added some noodles, canned goods and coffees from my house to give her. It's the bare minimum we can do for a stranger who is already in her 70s, struggling to see since she have cataracts, and still selling rags to make her grandchild finish college as she told us. It's a little help but she's very happy that there are still people who are willing to help a stranger let alone, we are just students.
