Worry is not Real

Matthew 6:31-34

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I feel comforted by this verse especially during those times I feel like quitting a job.

I was able to converse with a co-christian about this and I was unbelievable for them. I get them. How can you quit everything and do not worry about anything. I can’t answer but I quit my job anyway and I was still worried. I was worried about my pregnacy needs, our house expenses, my son’s n needs, our financial capacities and many more.

Because of the pandemic - Covid19, I was made to realize that I made the right choice 3 years ago.

3 years ago:

I pride my career
I pride my salary
I pride my skills and knowledge
I pride my connections
I pride my possessions

I saved soo I don’t feel insecure

My happiness was temporary.

I usually find myself looking for something else, like another job or constantly whine about my struggles. I felt empty even I had a happy relationship. I felt empty even I had money.

I never imagined that I gave up all those things and I am happy I did. I depended on God. And it’s the most beautiful thing that ever happened which is more beautiful than the times I pride myself before.

Now, I understand this verse- the reason we are taught not to worry about anything.
