As a Christian, you have the responsibility to maintain your relationship with God. You have to maintain your intimate relationship with our Lord and not become defeated by sin. Your daily devotions for Jesus should be one of your main goals in your life. There are many effective ways in starting your daily devotions. The most important thing in my Christian life is to STAY connected to Christ. It is important to have your personal devotions. Having your daily devotion will make you feel so relaxed, and at the same time secure for the whole day. Of course, as you wake up, you need to pray first. Then prepare your heart and mind for your devotion. I usually prepare a coffee during my quiet time with God. Note: you need to remind yourself, "_____, you need to start your morning devotion today." It takes a strong desire to read the word of God every morning, and every day. Proper meditation is really needed when having your quiet time with God. If you are a beginner, It's okay to start with short daily devotions. Learn to read God's word every day. HOW TO START YOUR DEVOTION? Here are some tips/steps for your daily devotion: 1. PRAY. You need to start everything with a prayer. Pray for your mind and heart as you read God's word. 2. WORSHIP. I listen to a worship song before I start my morning devotion. It depends on you if you want to do this. 3. READ HIS WORDS. You need to seek and understand His words. It is amazing that one single scripture from the bible could make you feel better and secure. 4. TAKE NOTES. You need to take notes as you read His words. Remember that your notes will be your reminder for your whole day. You need to write down some bible verses as a reminder for your whole day. 5. Make a promise to yourself within a day that you need to overcome something. Much better if it is related to your devotion. For example, it is about God's plan. (JEREMIAH 29:11) For example.: Today, I will not be easily mad over simple things. God has a wonderful plan for me. I need to be patient. You need to start reading the Bible. You need to start having your daily devotions. Why it is important to have your personal devotion? Read Psalms Chapter 1, it talks about how God blesses the people who meditate His words day and night. Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
